Mt Baldy is also known by it's official name of Mt San
Antonio, but everyone just calls it Mt Baldy. It was named for the bald
(treeless) face of the Baldy Bowl which is visible when you see the
mountain from LA. Mt Baldy is located in the new San Gabriel Mountains
National Monument, as well as Angeles National Forest. |

Below: Two curvy roads that
Lee Duquette drove on. One with a steep cliff down the side and NO railing.
And one very zig-zaggy through the mountain. They were in their toad,
NOT their RV, thank goodness. These roads would be dangerous for RVs. |

Lee Duquette decided not to drive that part. |

Lee
Duquette was driving in the car, but he had the GPS from the motorhome
guiding him. Since the GPS thought they were in their RV, it started
yelling "VIOLATION, VIOLATION" as they approached
the tunnel. (The RV would be too tall to go through this tunnel)
When the two RV Gypsies entered the tunnel in their car, the GPS just
shut down. Guess it thought they crashed. Either that, or the
GPS was mad at Lee Duquette for not listening to its advise! |
