page 3 of 3 - The Two RV Gypsies

at The Natural Stone Bridge and Caves
in Pottersville, New York

Stop #14 was The Upper Nature Trail, a long path that overlooks the cave systems. The two RV Gypsies realized that since this places closes at 4 p.m., they did not have time to follow the entire path, so they just did a short distance and then doubled back to go on to site 15, Inspiration Point.

Inspiration Point was a short climb over hemlock roots to a raised platform that looks across at Kelly's Slide Cave. To get to Kelly's Slide Cave, one would have to literally slide into it to view its secrets, and the general public are NOT allowed to do that. So do NOT do it!

Earlier, the two RV Gypsies stood on the bridge shown at the top of the below picture and photographed the large chunk of foam, and now they are getting a different view of the foam.

Below: Sometimes water pours down at the left end of the cave, and at other times, a mirrored surface looks like it can be walked into. But although the water looks shallow, it was really 30-feet deep. Do NOT go in the water.

Below: Karen duquette lingered under the cave, while Lee duquette was already back at the top of the stairs, so the two RV Gypsies photographed each other.
