The Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers

decided to take a cruise, which they got at a discount by signing up at a craft booth. All they had to pay was taxes, port fees, and whatever they purchase on the ship like souvenirs and drinks. Plus anything they do the one day in port, of course. It was just a short 4-day cruise to the Bahamas. They began their adventure on February 7, 2024 by leaving their RV in their daughters yard while they drove their toad to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Below: Karen Duquette did not take a lot of photos during the drive to Mount Pleasant, but she did like the "Toy Story" figures on the bumper of a big semi-truck. A bit further down the road, Karen was not sure what was written on a Uhaul truck so she photographed it so she could get a better look at it.

Below: The Don N. Holt Bridge over the Cooper River on I-526 (Mark Clark Expressway) in North Charleston, South Carolina, is an awesome truss bridge built in 1992 that gave Karen Duquette a look at some beautiful scenery from high up as they crossed overthe river. But Karen Duquette liked the overhead design on the bridge, so that is what she photographed.

The two RV Gypsies left a day early for their cruise, just in case they had any car troubles, which thankfully, they did not. They stayed at Tru by Hilton Hotel,1651 Midtown Avenue, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464

The hotel is centrally located off I-526, minutes from shops and restaurants. Beaches at Sullivan’s Island and the Isle of Palms, Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens, plus Patriots Point are about five minutes away, while downtown Charleston is within eight miles from the hotel.

Below: When the two RV Gypsies arrived at the hotel, the admitting clerk had a big smile and was fun to talk to. He had Karen laughing a lot. Karen took a few photos in the big, clean, lobby while Lee Duquette was checking in. Karen really liked the lovely mural near the pool table, which was free for guests to use.

The hotel had free parking, free Wi-Fi, and non-smoking rooms, plus an outdoor pool and fitness center, (which the two RV Gypsies did not use) Below: Part of the lobby where a free hot breakfast was served the next morning, but the two RV Gypsies was not impressed with the breakfast, otherwise the stay was perfect. They were given a nice check-in bag to enjoy.
