Karen Duquette's birthday celebration in the year 2024
|
|
|
|
|
Karen Duquette started the day off in a
lime green hat, but switched to the shiny, multi-colored hat that Renee
and John gave her for her birthday this year. Renee thinks she is being
funny, but Karen loves hats. |
|
|
NOTE: Karen Duquette used
to have over 100 hats, but now she only has about 60 hats because some
shrunk and lost their shape in the washing machine. (That is NOT counting
her winter hats, the birthday
candle hat or the "Bad Girl hat" she got from Renee in
2009 nor the flashing birthday hat she got
last year in 2023 - and yes, she still has those, but they are not
in the flashback photo shown below, nor is her Cowgirl hat.) There are
also some specialty hats such as an Elvis hat, SpongeBob hat, her U.S.
Navy Wave hat, Route 66 hat, USA hat and more that may or not be in
the photo shown below. |
|
Below: Two more of the many
hats Karen Duquette has. She also has 33 sunglasses now. She used to
have more sunglasses, but some have broken or gotten misplaced. She
is always on the lookout for more sunglasses, especially unique ones. |

|
Below: Karen's birthday cake and family.
Renee bought fun, colorful sunglasses for those who dare to wear them.
Of course, Karen Duquette was the only one who wanted to keep the sunglasses.
Karen's amazing son-in-law put candles on the cake. |

|
|
Karen Duquette does not like
cake except for one that can only be bought in Florida. But they are
no longer in Florida, so her daughter bought an ice cream cake for her.
YUMMY - Plus regular cakes for the others. Great job placing the candles
on top of the cake, John. |
|
|
Below: Extremely small pieces
of confetti shot out of the big thing on the cake, but the pieces were
so tiny, nobody actually noticed the pieces flying in the air. They
could barely even be seen on the table afterwards. But the cake was
great and the fun thought was appreciated. It was fun! |
|
|
|
Below: Karen Duquette is so proud of her
great-granddaughter who made her a special wall plaque. And of course
she also gave her great-grandmother a deviled-egg dish. (The little
girl loves deviled- eggs that her great-grandma makes) HINT! HINT!
Karen's great-grandson was sick and had to stay home so he missed
the celebration. Karen definitely missed him on this special day, as
did everyone else. |
|
|
Below: Renee bought funky colored eye
glasses for everyone to wear on this occasion. As mentioned above, Anthony
was at home, sick - so he is not in any photos.
Lee Duquette is holding up a card that had a restaurant gift certificate
from Renee and John because everyone was also celebrating Karen and
Lee's wedding anniversary. Karen does not like the fake-word "Congrats"
but loves the gift and family anyway. Thank you Renee and John
for this nice family party, the gifts, and the fun. |

Below: For some reason, one lens on the
sunglasses
kept shining in several photos, but only on Gabriella. |

Karen Duquette's great-granddaughter learned
how to use a hula hoop. |

|
SAY WHAT ???? |
|
Below: Gabriella throwing the football
through a hula hoop to her Papa. Good job!
(It was a soft, blow-up football, not a real one, so nobody got hurt
by the football) |

AND AS ALWAYS ON THIS DAY,
(AND EVERY DAY REALLY), KAREN and LEE DUQUETTE MISS THEIR SON,
BRIAN DUQUETTE (kisses
and hugs to Brian in Heaven) |
Multiple choices below, plus a big set of navigational buttons at the
very bottom of this page.
The two RV Gypsies went out to dinner for their 58th wedding anniversary
celebration, using the gift card from Renee and John. Thank you so much.
However, they did not do anything else to celebrate the day and sadly
no photos were taken.
Continue
