Pickens is tucked
in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was founded in
1868 and named for the Revolutionary War hero General Andrew Pickens.
Scotish-Irish settlers were the original inhabitants along with
a few traders who lived among the Cherokees. |

Pumpkintown Mountain
Opry is a small hometown coffee and ice cream shop, serving lunch specials,
BBQ, frappes and ice cream. In May-September they offer a farmers market
every Saturday from 1pm-5pm. The farmers market offers crafters, bakers,
artisans and of course farmers! It has limited days and times that it
is open. |

This is only posted here because Karen Duquette liked the orange chair
and pumpkin shown below.
Do NOT contact the two RV Gypsies for information. |
The Two RV Gypsies
noticed this place because of the giant orange chair and pumpkin house
in the yard. Karen Duquette really wanted to get out of the car
and get a closer look, but Lee Duquette did NOT stop in 2021, but he
did stop in 2023. These first two photos shown below were taken as the
two RV Gypsies drove by in 2021, but the rest of the photos are from
2023. |
