The two RV Gypsies love their Segway rides, but Raleigh NC no longer offered that option. So they signed up for a Trikke Tour instead. A trikke is a 3-wheel light electric vehicle (LEV) with intuitive handlebar controls for braking as well as a throttle and steering similar to a bike.

After arriving on the scene, the two RV Gypsies were fitted with helmets and a wireless audio pack for communication with the guide. When the other riders arrived, everyone spent time riding the trikkes in a circle in the parking lot. But surprise, surprise, the two RV Gypsies, especially Karen HATED it. She just never felt comfortable, although the guides said that other Segway riders liked the Trikke better. Well, guess what! After about a 1/2 hour of trying, the two RV Gypsies decided it just was not for them, even though it meant throwing away a bunch of money for the tour.

The two RV Gypsies will definitely stick to Segways, even though they are getting harder to find. They have been on 28 Segway tours so far, and NEVER felt uncomfortable, not even on their first Segway tour.

They only had time to take one photo of the Trikke and none of themselves.
