The
Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers in Mason Neck State Park 7301 High Point Road Lorton, VA 22079 June 29, 2021 |
Mason Neck State Park is situated on a Peninsula and flanked by Belmont Bay, Pohick Bay and the Potomac River. There is hiking trails and canoe rentals. But it also has a resident bald eagle, which the two RV Gypsies were not fortunate enough to actually see. So, the bald eagle attracts lots of bird watchers to this park, especially on weekends. The park is large but the parking lot is not. |
Below: As the two RV Gypsies were leaving Pohick Bay Regional Campground in their toad, they had to wait a couple of minutes before they could pull out onto the main road, due to oncoming traffic in both directions. The driver in the car behind them kept beeping his horn, over and over. He was never able to pass the two RV Gypsies because of traffic. When the two RV Gypsies stopped to pay at the entrance to Mason Neck State Park, that same driver went around them and did NOT pay. When the two RV Gypsies reached the parking lot, they saw his car and just shrugged. Fortunately, he was in such a hurry, that he did not have time to exhibit any other road rage. |
|
Below: A bit later, the two RV Gypsies saw that same driver in a canoe. The two RV Gypsies hope that canoe trip helped him relax. |

Workers were putting in a path to the trail near the Welcome Center. It was an extremely hot day, so the two RV Gypsies did want to hike the trails, since there were no waterfalls in this park. |
