Below: An Eastern Continental Divide sign
(elevation 2,820). But it was NOT the first one that the two RV Gypsies
have seen. The others can be seen by clicking
here, and scrolling down to "Continental Divide". Or choose
the letter "C" from the main navigational buttons at the bottom
of most pages on this website. |

Below: Located at mile marker 334 off
the Blue Ridge Parkway, Little Switzerland is about an hour's drive
from Asheville, North Carolina. The two RV Gypsies did not explore the
area as much as they should have. Little Switzerland has some of the
finest mountain music, traditional square dance and more, often on a
Saturday evening in July and August. |

The 12-mile long motorcycle route features about 200
VERY WILD CURVES. The Diamondback links NC 226 and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The two RV Gypsies drove a short distance on this route and did not
like the curves and cliffs. After witnessing a pickup truck going over
the yellow line on a curve, Lee Duquette was lucky enough to be able
to turn the small car that he was driving around, while nobody was coming
in either direction. But their daughter and son-in-law have driven this
Snake Road several times. Everyone must make their own decisions about
driving this route, which is often full of motorcycles who love this
road. |
