SPECIAL COMMENTS and PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS
OF THE TWO RV GYPSIES

USA map showing locaion of ArkansasArkansas map showing location of Kensett

Kensett is a city in White County, Arkansas, located adjacent to the east side of Searcy. It is not a big city. Many companies have moved to Kensett to support the natural gas industry. Kensett is a center for landscaping and nursery activity. Double Springs sod farm, Latina Nursery (well known for Japanese maples and peach trees), and Two Rivers Nursery are all located in or near Kensett. There are several restaurants, and Kensett has the lowest sales tax rate in White County.

Kensett was a stop on the defunct Missouri and North Arkansas Railroad, which provided passenger and freight service from Joplin, Missouri, to Helena in Phillips County in eastern Arkansas, from 1906 until its disestablishment in 1946.

Whitney Lane RV Park is located only 4 miles from Harding University, 2 miles from a WalMart Super Center, and 45 minutes from Little Rock. The campground did have Wi-Fi (which was super slow so the the two RV Gypsies used their own Wi-Fi which worked fast). Other Amenities included on-site propane tank refills, laundry facilities, long-term rentals, picnic tables, and concrete runners. Several TV stations came in via antenna.

The campground did NOT have a security gate, no showers, no pool, no rec room. Luckily the two RV Gypsies did not need those things. It did have good water pressure, nice grassy, full hook-up sites with 50 amp services, water, and sewer. The worst thing here was the trains going by day and night and blowing their horns. Often the trains were only about 15 minutes apart. This is why it got the sad face icon rating. Karen hates trains and their horns, especially at night. The two RV Gypsies did not find much to do here so they went to a movie.

Once off the main highways, the roads were nice with hardly any traffic. Suddenly a small plane flew right in front of the two RV Gypsies' RV and dipped its wings. Karen barely got a photo of it. Then a shadow came over the front window of the RV as the plane circled back around and whizzed right over the RV.

Below: The two RV Gypsies got behind a very wide farm machine that took up both lines. The driver pulled over as often as he could to let traffic out from behind him and to let oncoming traffic get by as well.
