Then it was time to get into the canoes.
The Loxahatchee is famous throughout the state for canoeing and kayaking.
The upper river winds its way under a canopy of centuries-old cypress
trees, giving a real back-in-time experience. On the lower
section, the river becomes a mangrove-lined estuary, with ample bird
life along its shores. In 1985, the Loxahatchee became Florida's first
federally designated "Wild and Scenic River." No alligators
were seen on this trip. |

The Two RV Gypsies saw two manatees swimming in the
water right beside their canoe, but did not get good photos of the manatees.
Then a few people wanted a break from the canoe, so they checked out
the shoreline. |

Below: Family members have often stated
that they think Anthony is afraid of heights. But he worked really hard
at climbing up this pole and was so proud of himself as he called himself
a big boy now. Look at the determination in his eyes and the pleased
look of success on his face. (Of course, he did outgrow this fear of
heights as he got older). |

Below: Time for Anthony to get some lessons in Badminton.
He was very determined. |
