The Stanton/Meramec KOA was a nice enough park. The sites were very close together, but there was a picnic table and some grass between sites. The campground Wi-Fi came in at sites and worked well. TV was via antenna and stations came in okay. The water pressure was low. There were TRAINS that passed by at night and they blew their horns loudly. Karen really hates this.
Persons under 21 must be with parents to camp. Most KOA's have about the same rules. Check-out time was 11 a.m. The pool was a nice size, but the two RV Gypsies did not use it. There was also a playground. Community fire rings were nearby. As usual, the two RV Gypsies did not do much in this KOA because they were busy canoeing and ziplining. There were several other attractions in this area, caves, chainsaw sculptors, antique toy museum, and a reptile / wildlife ranch.
This KOA rents out canoes and tubes because the Meramec River is fairly close by. The cave area also does the same, but they canoe / tube separate sections of the Meramec River. The two RV Gypsies suggest that everyone read the scary experience section in the sub-menu below before renting a canoe here. And everyone should make their own decision where to rent canoes from. |
