Meramec Caverns in Stanton, Missouri introduced the first zipline in the St. Louis Metro Area -- Caveman Zipline! The two RV Gypsies soared through the treetops and across the Meramec River in this high-adrenaline, extreme adventure. Lasting about ninety-minutes, this canopy adventure included three swinging sky-bridges and four zip rides varying in length from 200 to 1250 feet, reaching speeds of 50 mph, and zips are at varying heights from 54-82 feet above the ground!
This was Karen Duquette's 9th zipline in various places, and Lee Duquette's 6th zipline in various places. The zipline was great. The guides knew their job, but lacked the fun personalities of guides on other ziplines. |

Lee Duquette's sixth (6th) time on a zipline, and Karen Duquette's ninth
(9th) time on a zipline, they had to go through some indoor training.
The trainer got upset because they took photos. |

The two RV Gypsies were unable
to take pictures during the actual zipline. The zipline employees did
take a few photos, but they were $10 for each photo. None of the photos
of Karen Duquette showed her face, and one was a backwards shot - a
butt shot! No way would Karen pay $10 for a butt shot. And Lee Duquette's
photos did not come out that well either. Guess the employee was not
a professional photographer after all. That's OK though, because
the two RV Gypsies do have photographs of themselves on some of the
other ziplines they have been on. But still, they would have bought
these photos had the quality been half-way decent. |
So, on their way back to their
truck, the two RV Gypsies took a couple of photos of other people on
the zipline, since they could not photograph themselves. |
