Terrace Bay is a township in Northern Ontario. The Terrace Bay region is known for its incredible beauty and is located on the shores of the magnificent Lake Superior, the largest fresh water lake in the world. Terrace Bay is originally named after the sand and gravel terraces which were left behind when ice glaciers receded about 20,000 years ago. The area is surrounded by the rugged Northern Ontario wilderness and the forest is the reason for Terrace Bay's existence. Below are a few photos of Terrace Bay Beach. |

The above photos above appear
to have regular sand on the beach. However, standing on Terrace Bay
Beach, Karen Duquette took a photo of the sand under her feet. (see
the photo below on the left). Blowing up that same photo showed that
the sand on the beach is actually made up of colorful rocks (see the
photo on the right below)
