The
Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers |
Lee Duquette sat quietly and at a safe distance on a hill and watched the elk at Rocky Mountain National Park. |
|
Although the two RV Gypsies did not photograph trees surrounded by fences, they thought it interesting enough to post the following: "Research has shown that the elk herd in Rocky Mountain National Park and the Estes Valley is larger and more concentrated than under natural conditions. As a result, willow and aspen stands were declining, depriving other wildlife of the important habitat they need. Fences are one of the many tools the park is using to implement the Elk and Vegetation Management Plan. These enclosures are protecting important riparian willow and aspen habitat from elk browsing." |

Below: The two RV Gypsies watched an elk feeding from another elk, but when the elk stood up, it was not a baby elk, it was almost the same size as the mother elk. |

Continue on in order of travel as The Two RV Gypsies took a picnic lunch break and first a blue bird, then a chipmunk tried to dine with them. It is illegal to feed wildlife, so the two RV Gypsies did not share their food.
