After watching Old Faithful
spout, the two RV Gypsies drove around looking for other geysers. It
was nice weather except for a few occasional rain showers, and suddenly,
as they rounded a corner, Karen Duquette noticed a bit of white on the
road and said "What the heck - Why is everything white?."
Quickly she realized it was a hail storm, and although the two RV Gypsies
have been in several hail storms in the past, they had never seen one
that left the ground completely covered in white and looking like deep
snow. |

Below: The two
RV Gypsies drove out of the hail storm area as suddenly as they drove
into it. The hail storm had NOT stopped, but it was only hailing in
a small section of the park and the two RV Gypsies drove on to look
at other geysers. It was amazing that they drove around one corner and
was in a hail storm, and drove just 1/4 mile down the street and they
were out of the hail storm.
They returned about an hour later to the hail storm area to find the hail storm gone, but the ground was covered in white, looking like snow, but it was really inches of hail all over the ground and roads. |

up a handful of hail off the ground and made a "hail ball'. |
