MEMORIAL PLAZAA large plaza was created to pay tribute to the men and women of the Armed Services, and it is located in southeast Nebraska in the city of Beatrice. The main feature of the park is a star with its five points symbolizing the five branches of military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. Each point of the star flies the Flag representing its branch of service. The center of the Star Plaza provides the stage for the United States Flag. All Flags are accentuated with night lighting. A series of smaller stars is available for additional memorials and sculptures. In part, the beauty of the site is the large majestic trees. The tree arboretum provides an additional opportunity to educate the public on both historical and botanical facts. |
