Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and

Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore
is a U.S. National Lakeshore located in northwest Indiana and managed by
the National Park Service. It was authorized by Congress in 1966. The National
Lakeshore runs for nearly 25 miles along the southern shore of Lake Michigan,
from Gary, Indiana, on the west to Michigan City, Indiana on the east. The
park contains approximately 15,000 acres.

Then Lee Duquette started to go up the much smaller second dune but the the sand here was extremely HOT and was getting inside his sandals and his feet were burning. | |
Below: Lee Duquette's feet were burning from the hot sand, so he just sat down. But he quickly got up from the hot sand and off the dune as fast as possible. | |
