Yogi Bear's
Jellystone Park Camp Resort

1. The two RV Gypsies have 3 comments to make about Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp Resorts - 5300 Old Porter Road, Portage, Indiana:

a. The campground had $10 in additional (hidden fees) added to the cost of staying there.

unhappy smile faceb. The two RV Gypsies stayed here for three nights in July 2010. They were put in site 297. The rear of their RV (which is where the bedroom is located) was facing Interstate 94, which is a very busy highway 24 / 7 with lots of traffic and semi-tractor trailer trucks. Therefore the noise from the road never stopped. The front of their RV was facing a row of mobile homes, then a small lake behind that, then a railroad track. The train noise was awful, especially when they blew their whistle in the middle of the night. Karen slept with noise-cancellation headphones on (not really that comfortable). There was not a peaceful moment at this campground.

c. Also, the informational brochure the campground gave out said there was an Adult Only Game Room - but that was closed. The campground diagram showed a hot tub that did not exist. But it DID have an adult only swimming pool, which is a nice feature, a big book exchange area, a family beach area and a smaller adult only beach area, and other nice features. But the two RV Gypsies will never return there due to the noise level which really made sleeping difficult.
