Mel's Diner
119 Wears Valley Road
Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
(near traffic light #3)
August 23, 2020

Mel's Diner is located just off the parkway and is Family Owned and Operated in the heart of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, not too far from Gatlinburg, Sevierville, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Since 1993, Mel's Diner has displayed a classic 50's diner atmosphere and classic American food. Their breakfast menu is served all day long. They also sold limited edition T-shirts and other gifts. Karen Duquette's food was OK, but Lee Duquette's food was dry and he did not eat it. It is not very often that Lee does not eat the food.

The menu was classic Italian: garlic knots, pizza, pastas, salads. The two RV Gypsies ate here twice and each time had the Antipasto. They enjoyed it the first time, but not the second time.

Lee Duquette

This restaurant is right next door to Howard's Steak House Restaurant and the two restaurants share the outdoor seating. The two RV Gypsies enjoyed the view of the river as they ate, except for the biker dude who kept getting out of his seat and walking over to the river to spit his tobacco into the river.

A photographer went to each table and said she wanted to take a complimentary photo postcard of the two RV Gypsies, so they agreed. Lee Duquette did buy a couple of other photos as well, even though the quality of the photographs are not that great.

The two RV Gypsies sat outside on the patio behind Margaritaville on The Island. Karen Duquette enjoyed her Italian Margarita and they both shared some Pork Nachos.
