Karen
and Lee Duquette's FLASHBACK
Whitewater Falls - Upper and Lower
Highway 281, Sapphire, NC 28774
August 5, 2005
|
Whitewater Falls is the highest
waterfall east of the Rockies. Because of the escarpment's difficult
access and rugged terrain, much of the area receives few visitors and
has remained wild and undeveloped over the years. However, Whitewater
Falls can experience extremely high visitor volume during the middle
of the day. On this date, Karen and Lee Duquette did not meet up with
anyone as they hiked to view the Upper Whitewater Falls. |
Fees on this date: $3 for vehicles with seven passengers or less;
$1 per person for more than seven people traveling together in a vehicle.
Annual pass available for $15; One-day or season permits are also valid
at Whiteside Mountain and at Dry Falls. Prices may be subject to change
as the years pass. |

down to get under fallen tree branches, and sometimes he bent down just
to feel the water. No matter the reason, it gave Karen Duquette the
opportunity to take butt shots. |
