While Lee Duquette was attending an electrical seminar in New Orleans, Louisiana, Karen Duquette and her friend Helen Hodges-Moore decided to visit the place where Mardi Gras is made! They enjoyed seeing the parade floats and props used in many of the largest Mardi Gras parades and she learned about how they are made at Mardi Gras World!Since 1947, Kern Studios has built the breathtaking floats that are seen in Mardi Gras parades and in celebrations, both in New Orleans and around the world; all housed at Mardi Gras World.Karen Duquette enjoyed the walk through the massive studio where floats have been built from the ground up. Karen even dressed up in an elaborate Mardi Gras costume, shown below. |
