The
Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers at Grouse Mountain in British Columbia, Canada May 20, 2009 |
Grouse Mountain is 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, and just up the mountain from the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Grouse Mountain features a tram ride, a lumberjack show, birds in motions demonstrations, scenic chair rides, helicopter tours, a refuge for endangered wildlife, ranger talks and eco walks, plus fabulous views of Vancouver, several dining facilities and of course, souvenir shops. On this date, the zip line was a new attraction on Grouse Mountain.
Below: North America's largest aerial tram system departs every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. The tram took the two RV Gypsies to an elevation of 4,100 feet above Vancouver. |

Below: From the moment the two RV Gypsies stepped off the Grouse Mountain Skyride, nature enveloped them with the scent of Red Cedar and Douglas Fir.

joined Lee Duquette inside the carving. |

But
when getting out of the carving, the snow caved in under Karen Duquette
and she found herself just over knee-deep in a snow hole. Lee Duquette
tried to help Karen get up, but she was laughing so hard and just could
not get back on her feet. |
|
Since Karen Duquette could not get up, she slid down the snow bank on her butt, laughing all the way. Then Lee Duquette was able to help her up. All the bystanders were laughing up a storm. Someone even recognized Karen later in the day and said, "You are the funny one that fell getting out of the carving and slid down the hill." Karen often finds a way to be remembered, without even trying.
