July - October, 2008 - Karen and Lee Duquette stayed in the Orlando area awhile, while taking care of Brian Duquette's business and his dog, China. Plus Karen needed time to heal from her blood clots. They did not continue their RV travels for 10 months, having a lot of details to handle. So part of that time was spent in a campground in Clermont, and the rest of that time was spent in Broward County, when the detective told them to go be near family because nothing will happen with Brian's case for awhile. And of course, they had no choice but to continue with their day-to-day lives. Although, there were some good days when they participated in a few local activities as shown below, just to keep themselves from going crazy, but their broken hearts never healed from Brian's tragedy, and never will. |

The following photos are of wild animals at Thousand Trails Campground in Clermont, Florida. Some family members came to visit for awhile, and the two RV Gypsies did enjoy time with them. |

Below: After their family returned to Florida, Karen
and Lee Duquette did not do much while stuck in Orlando. The stress
gave Karen Duquette blood clots and she had trouble walking. Lee rushed
her to the hospital because she also had trouble breathing.

|
Below: While still in Orlando in October, Karen Duquette's cousins, Judy & Joe Betts came to Orlando to visit and they went to T-Rex, a place to eat, shop, explore and discover. OMG - Inside the restaurant - an ant bigger than life! | |

Below: Finally, the detective told Karen and Lee Duquette that they should be near their family in Broward County because it will be quite awhile before there is any new information in Brian Duquette's case. So with heavy hearts, they returned to Broward County just in time for Halloween. Karen went to a line dance party and none of her line dance friends knew she had returned. They kept trying to guess who was in the costume shown below. Karen also had a "voice changer" under her costume to disguise her voice. She won 2nd place. Of course, she really should have won first place, but this group did not like scary costumes. Tweetle Dee and Tweetle Dum costumes took first place. |
|
So, the two RV Gypsies parked their RV at Markham Park in Broward County, Florida, and spent time with family. In November 2008, Karen Duquette's friend Monica Ekedahl and her daughter Titti, who live in Sweden, came to Florida for a visit. Monica and Titti wanted to go to Butterfly World in Coconut Creek, so they did.
