The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is a haven for
native birds, nature preserve, and living museum. It is a place dedicated
to caring for and rehabilitating Ohio native birds, protecting natural
habitat, and creating opportunities for people to engage with nature.
There are educational family-friendly programming and school-based programs,
managing a 90 acre preserve, and actively aiding sick and injured birds
back to health. The Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that is recognized
by the IRS as 501(c)3. All contributions to the Sanctuary to support
the mission are tax deductible. The Sanctuary does not accept mammals,
non-native birds, or waterfowl. |

Below: Lee and Karen Duquette stopped to
learn more about the birds and the Ohio Bird Sanctuary |
|
|
Below: Lee and Karen Duquette
entered the building and each were give a small cup of mealworks to
hand feed the aviar residents along the way. |
|
|
Below: Lee and Karen Duquette
took a walk along the cages that held the birds. However, none of the
photographs taken of the birds came out very well, because the photos
were taken through a wire cage. Plus many of the birds were in the very
back of the cages. So Karen Duquette just kept a photo of the signs
on the cages and discarded any actual bird photos she took. They found
this to be a big disappointment. |
