The
Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers enjoyed the Josephine Sculpture Park 3355 Lawrenceburg Road, Frankfort (Franklin county) KY October 9, 2011 and again on June 29, 2024 (very different experiences) |
In 2011, the two RV Gypsies, Lee and Karen Duquette, spent the day admiring the 21 large, outdoor sculptures on exhibition at JSP park, as well as two graffiti murals and one community art quilt. These works were created by artists from across the globe. They returned here in 2024 and discovered that everything was very different, confusing and more spread out (and not for the better - at least in the opinion of the two RV Gypsies). |

back view of the Mobile Life Support Unit Model A sculpture |
|
And the funniest part (or maybe the coolest part) of the Mobile Life Support Unit Model A sculpture --THE SEAT.........LOL
Trying to see the rafters (or roof line) and a hip-bone, both sides of the "Home Again" Sculpture were photographed. The position of the sun gave this sculpture the appearance of being a different color on each side - a "sun" illusion.
Lee
checked out the sculpture titled "Lee" - He thought
the sculpture looked like a snail. |
|
"SWAY" beckoned the two RV Gypsies to walk through the fabulous field of plants at Josephine Sculpture Park
Lee
has BIG "SWAY" ears |
|
Below: Even "MOB"
had a great view of Sway's field of plants |

Below: Josephine Sculpture Park on June 29, 2024 - where everything was very different. |
Below: Just before entering JSP in 2024, Karen Duquette noticed a sign and artwork just outside of JSP. |
|
Below: Entering JSP in 2024 - the JSP sign was improved. Everything else was quite different from above, but Lee and Karen Duquette liked the 2011 site much better. |
|
Below: Karen Duquette photographed the sign shown below, but Lee Duquette did not wish to visit the sites listed below. But the Mother and Child is shown a bit below on this page, because it was in this location.Karen did not think the restroom was inviting at all, so she did not use it. |
|
Below: 30 acres is a lot of distance to walk in order to see all of the artwork here. In 2011, the artwork was NOT spread out and therefore, much more enjoyable to Lee and Karen Duquette. they do hope visitors to this site used the link at the top of this page to see the 2011 experience. |
|
Below: The Porch Project which Lee and Karen Duquette id not see anywhere in 2011. |
|
Below: Two sculptures seen in the distance . Karen Duquette zoomed in on them while on the porch shown above. It did NOT look like a pleasant walk just to see them, so they do not know what they are called. |
|
Since this place was not as interesting as it was on their first visit to JSP, Lee and Karen Duquette did not wish to walk long distances to see other things here in 2024, which may or not prove interesting to them. They prefer to remember how wonderful their first visit to JSP was. |
