Lee and Karen Duquette
celebrated St. Patrick's Day in 2024
|
Karen Duquette loves all holidays
and any chance to wear something a bit different. Here Karen is trying
on some "green" looks for St. Patrick's Day. Some people enjoyed
her early green outfits that she wore around town. On Old Woman told
her she was weird. Yea! That sounds good to Karen. Her mission is to
just enjoy life, make people laugh, smile, or wonder "what
the?" |

Below: March 14, 2024 - Karen
and Lee Duquette got ready for a St. Patrick's Day Party at the Owls
Club in Rock Hill, South Carolina. No, there was not any costume contest,
but of course Karen would have won if there was. So many people told
her that her outfit was amazing. Her glasses and head piece were both
blinking green. Karen makes people smile wherever she goes. Lee Duquette
likes to make Karen happy, so he dressed up too. |

Karen Duquette really misses
the parties from when she was in Florida. The Carolinas are just not
as big of a party place (except in bars, which Lee does not enjoy).
And even those cannot compare with Flanigans in Florida. But still,
life is good. |

On St. Patrick's Day, March
17, 2024, Karen Duquette could not find any parties, so Karen and Lee
just went to downtown Waxhaw, North Carolina which advertised a big
street party for two full days. It was better than not going out, but
it can not compare with Flanigan's in Florida. And of course, Karen
dressed very basic green, unlike in past years.
So they listened to some Irish music for awhile and then
went to get some Irish food, rather than eat at the food trucks. But
choices were limited, and the restaurants were packed. (There are not
that many restaurants in Waxhaw anyway). The Reuben sandwich they had
was good, and of course, Karen enjoyed a nice, green cocktail, and time
out with Lee. |

Duquette got "greener" every year and even became an Irish
Angel, A pot of God, an Irish Beer Barrel and of course a Leprechaun.
