Lee and Karen Duquette
took a jeep tour
with Smoky Mountain Jeep Tours
October 3, 2023

Apparently two jeep companies offered this tour. The two RV Gypsies booked the jeep tour with Smoky Mountain Jeep Tours, not the pink jeep. It was okay, but not really worth the money.

Everyone sat sideways with their backs to the side windows which did not offer a lot of opportunities for photographs without twisting their bodies. However, Karen Duquette was not even sure why they booked this tour since they have been here several times. Apparently they did not pay enough attention to where the jeep tour was going and they just did not think it through -- but they do love jeep rides. So they were not able to take a lot of photos along the way due to sitting sideways. The trip was not what they expected. But that was okay because they sat near a lovely couple and their children and enjoyed their company and shared a lot of laughter with them.

(At the bottom of this page, there will be a link to their 2020 tour here with history and a lot more interesting photos. If you go there, be sure to use the return link back to this page to continue in 2023).

Then it was time for a very brief stop and some nice scenery

Ridge upon ridge of forest straddles the border between North Carolina and Tennessee in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Below: The sign below marks the borderline of the two states. Just as they did in 2020, the two RV Gypsies had their photos taken on each side of the State Line sign.

Below: Then the jeep tour drove back down through Pigeon Forge and into Sevierville with a brief stop to enjoy the Halloween decorations at Hidden Mountain Resort East - 475 Apple Valley Road. Although they were not allowed to exit the jeep, Karen Duquette managed to get some photos of the great Halloween decorations.

Then the jeep drove back to town, but instead of ending the jeep tour, the driver surprised everyone with a very rough ride through some back country. The ride was very rough and although everyone was seat-belted, they bounced all over the place while laughing their heads off. Karen Duquette took a video but does not know how to post it here. (Any help out there?? If so, please email Karen).

The photo below is the only one that Karen Duquette was able to take out of the window - she mostly took a bouncy video. The photo is blurry of course because the jeep was bouncing everyone around. All of the time, Karen and everyone else were busy laughing. This part kind of made the tour worth the money.
