The
Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers
and family went to Dollywood Theme Park
in Pigeon Forge, TN
September 2022
|
|
Dollywood is a theme park
jointly owned by entertainer Dolly Parton and Herschend Family Entertainment.
It is located in the Knoxville metropolitan area in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee,
near the gateway to The Great Smoky Mountains. |
|
Since the two RV Gypsies' daughter purchased the Dollywood
tickets, they did not realize that the park ticket was good from September
2 - 11, or they would have stayed longer, although they would have
had to change their accommodations after the family left the cabin.
By the time they saw the ticket date, it was too late to change because
they had made plans for their RV trip and had to be in Arizona by
a certain date in order to see Lee's sister before she flew off to
Europe. But it did not matter, because they had a wonderful time and
they were thankful for the two days in Dollywood with family.

Below: The Dollywood Eagle.
Lots and Lots of people were sitting and standing all around the eagle,
so the camera had to be aimed high for the first photo and in close
for the second photo. |

Below: Two water fountains
in the RV park. the first one was by the food court that had really
terrible food - very expensive sandwiches, salads, wings and such. And
it was very crowded. |

September, some Christmas decorations were already up in Dollywood. |

great-granddaughter got their faces painted. His granddaughter did not
like it much. |

Below: Karen Duquette wore
her U.S. Navy hat and U.S. Navy Veteran T-shirt. Only one person during
the entire day at Dollywood said "Thank you for your service".
Not that she was expecting anybody to as she never even gave it
thought until the one man did, and that made her wonder about people. |

Again, it was only September,
but Dollywood was ready for Halloween. Pumpkin decorations were everywhere. |

Karen Duquette went on some of the rides with her great-grandchildren,
then she went off on her own to ride all of the roller-coasters in the
park because she is the only one in her family that is a roller-coaster
fanatic. So, of course, no one was able to photograph her on any roller-coaster
rides. But she had a blast. |

Below: Karen Duquette's favorite
photo is the one she took in the mirror of the Merry-Go-Round as she
was riding on one of the moving horses. Also in the photo are some family
members. |
