The Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers
and family at
Silvervale Falls on Waterfalls Road
Caldwell County, NC
February 6, 2021

Caldwell County (474 square miles in size) is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains The county was formed in 1841 from parts of Burke County and Wilkes County. A series of reductions in the county's territory followed. The County was named for Joseph Caldwell, presiding professor (1796-1997, 1799-1804) and the first president (1804-1812, 1816-1835) of the University of North Carolina..

Silvervale Falls is a roadside view waterfall, 80 feet in height, not far from Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway. There were a few parking space right next to the waterfall, so the two RV Gypsies and family did not need to hike to this waterfall. Silvervale Falls is best visited in the morning or at dusk for the best photographs.

Directions: From the intersection of US 321/221 and the Blue Ridge Parkway in Blowing Rock, drive south down the mountain for 8.7 and turn right onto Waterfalls Road shortly after you pass Black Bear General Store (which has some great cider). The falls will be on the left.
