Lee and Karen Duquette, The Two RV Gypsies
explored Anakeesta
and the swinging bridge in Gatlinburg, TN
August 25, 2020

historyAnakeesta is a nearby theme park named after the Anakeesta Formation that makes up many of the mountains near Gatlinburg, including Chimney Tops, Charlie's Bunion, and Mount Kephart. In Cherokee, the name means the place of the balsams and refers to high ground.

The park has zip lines, chair and gondola rides to the top of Anakeesta Mountain, a mountain coaster and much more. Inside the park, Firefly Village has shops and restaurants.

After getting a bit to eat at a restaurant with terrible food, The Two RV Gypsies took the gondola back down the mountain. They were entertained by zipliners zipping in front of them.
