Below: Leaving Grandfather Mountain, the two RV Gypsies' GPS tried to take them on the same road they had taken on their way to Grandfather Mountain, which was a 7-mile long dirt road that was very curvy, and barely had room for one car, yet it was a two-way road. But they knew better and did not listen to the GPS because on that road earlier, the two RV Gypsies kept hoping that they would not meet up with a car coming from the other direction because it was impossible to see around most of the corners. Luckily, they did not meet another car. However, the fall colors were very nice on that road, and Karen Duquette took pictures out the front window to keep her from being nervous. Unfortunately, they do not remember the name of the road.

At the beginning, the road was paved, but got worse as it went along.

Below: After leaving Grandfather Mountain, the two RV Gypsies drove through Morganton looking or a place to eat. They saw a bit of interesting things along the way.

Below: The first restaurant the two RV Gypsies stopped at was Silver Creek Restaurant in Morganton NC, but as soon as they saw the sign they knew it was fast food, and not what they were looking for. They looked inside the restaurant and confirmed that Silver Creek Restaurant was not for them.

Then they drove on to Judge's Riverside Restaurant on the Catawba River, which was more to their liking. The food was good, but the "hot" entrees were cold. The service was good. The food was served on paper plates, and Karen hates that.
