Labor Day Week-End

These comments are just the experience of the two RV Gypsies and do not make the campground good or bad in general.

Below: While driving to this KOA, the GPS warned the two RV Gypsies about a "Right Curve Ahead".
But as seen in the photo below, there was definitely NO right curve ahead. LOL

Right Curve Ahead

Below: The roads approaching Meridian East / Toomsuba Campground started out nice and peaceful until the two RV Gypsies came to a parts salvaging yard located just before reaching the campground.

unhappy faceThe two RV Gypsies were worried that they would not get a campground reservation at the last minute because it was a Holiday Week-end, and usually campgrounds fill up ahead of time. But they lucked out. And it turned out that there remained a lot of empty spaces in this campground the entire weekend. This is not a big campground, only 49 sites shown on brochure. There was a catch-and-release pond, and a small store on the grounds.

The lady at the office was very nice. The roads were gravel and the site was paved as shown in photos below. The pool was still open, but of course the pool will close after this holiday week-end. The two RV Gypsies did not use the pool, laundry or restrooms. But Lee did go into the game room and said it smelled of musty water residue. (Maybe that's why the campground was so empty. There was a small lagoon (swimming not allowed there).

Somebody walked their dog through the yard of the two RV Gypsies, let the dog poop in the yard and did not clean it up.

A few trains were faintly heard in the background. The two RV Gypsies did not use the campground's free Wi-Fi which was unsecured. A few TV channels came in via antenna, ABC, NBC, CBS, and 4 other miscellaneous stations, but not FOX. Check out time was NOON.
