If you are a camper and want to use their amenities, Chehalis Thousand Trails is a very nice Thousand Trails Park, possibly one of the nicest the two RV Gypsies have stayed at in awhile.
However, the two RV Gypsies are NOT campers and seldom use any amenities except to park and hook-up (and maybe use the hot tub if it isn't closed real early like it usually is). Pool and hot tub closed here at 9 p.m. SHIT! Since there is no TV, No cell phones, no internet, you would think the hot tub could stay open until 10. Karen takes it back about this being a nice place. She is not here to sleep and sit by a freaking campfire. She wants to enjoy herself.
The two RV Gypsies want 50 amp full-hook-ups, and there were NOT a
lot of sites with sewers here or at most Thousand Trails campground,
and most of the sites that have sewers are already taken almost every
time the two RV Gypsies arrive with their RV at a TT. There were no
50 amp sites. Wi-Fi was not available on site here, but was available
at the recreation hall. Karen uses a big PC, not a laptop because of
the size and amount of work on this website, so she sure as heck cannot
bring the PC to the office. The two RV Gypsies have their own Wi-Fi,
but AT&T sucks on the west coast.
Only one TV station came in because there was no cable at this campground. The two RV Gypsies' AT&T Wi-Fi worked at their site, but very slowly, and it was annoying. Check-in time was 4 p.m. (kind of late) Check-out time for campsites was noon.
Some roads were paved, but most of the campsites were on dirt roads. The water pressure was good, the park is away from the highway, with lots of trees, and quiet, unless you get next to a bunch of rowdy kids, or barking or yapping dogs. For a change, there were NO trains with loud whistles at night, and no road noise.
The park had a separate pool, hot tub, steam room, exercise room.
recreation hall and more for just adults. The family area had a very
large pool and it had a lot of other great features. But as stated above,
it all closed early. Guess campgrounds are meant just for sleeping,
not for vacationers.
As usual, the two RV Gypsies only used their parking site, and not the other great amenities of this park, but they do recognize that it is one of the nicer Thousand Trails parks with lots of things to do for children and adults, if only the hot tub at least could be open till 10. If Karen has her way, it will be bye-bye Thousand Trails next year. |
ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? Many campgrounds, including this one and many Thousand Trails, say you cannot leave your RV overnight unattended or they will charge you. How the heck would they know? Just because your car isn't there, doesn't mean you are not. Maybe the car broke down somewhere and is in for repair and had the tow truck take you back to the campground (this has happened to the two RV Gypsies). If no car is there, are they going to knock on your door in the middle of the night to see if you answer? If they do, they better be ready for a shotgun in their face! |
