The two RV Gypsies drove from
Maryland, through West Virginia and then into Virginia to stay one-night
at the Charlottesville KOA in Charlottesville, Virginia. Sites 20 and
38 are next to each other, and they are two of the longest sites in
the campground. Both the RV and toad of the two RV Gypsies fit in site
#20 with no problem. Both were pull-through sites, but they were on
a corner, and there was a fence that meant that Lee Duquette had to
make a very wide turn to get into either site to be sure that the toad
did not hit the fence. It was a rainy day so they did not do anything
in the area and they did not take any photos.
But here are a few comments on the campground. As with most KOA's this campground had a paved road only from the entrance to the office, then the roads throughout the campground were gravel. The campground had cable TV and unsecured Wi-Fi, which was on the slow side. But the Wi-Fi was ONLY able to be used in two-hour repeatable segments. This is the first time the two RV Gypsies came across this requirement.
This is also the first campground in the month of October that did
NOT have any Halloween decorations. Check-in time was 1 P.M. or later.
Check-out time for RVs was NOON. No washing of vehicles. Do not park
toad in an empty site or you will get charged for that site too. Most
other rules seemed to be standard KOA rules. The two RV Gypsies have
no idea how nice or not nice the campground may be, as they just relaxed
in their RV all evening due to the rain, and left the next day for The
Natural Bridge in Virginia - see the link below. |
