Below: The two RV Gypsies
saw the bear and the goat in a raft and decided that they would like
to do some white water rafting, so they booked a trip for the next day
with Wild River Adventures. There were several different trips to choose
from. The two RV Gypsies chose the half day Whitewater trip, but this
company also offered full day Whitewater (with lunch on the river),
evening dinner Whitewater, sport raft wild side, half day inflatable
kayak, full day inflatable kayak, two day raft or a custom multi day
raft trip (Whitewater or scenic, Middle Fork or North Fork) and several
other choices. |

Below: The bus and rafts
came and the two RV Gypsies were in their gear and ready to go! |
Below: The bus dropped the
two RV Gypsies and the others off at the river along the border of Glacier
National Park. |
Below: The guide had to walk
in the 40 degree water to launch the raft and bring it to where everyone
could get into the raft while only getting their feet wet. |

smiling and ready to go. |
Below: The half day adventure
started off with nice weather, but since everyone had to step in the
very cold water to get into the raft, their feet were already cold.
Rapids on this stretch of water were featured in the hit movie,
"A River Wild" and they are class 3 rapids. |
Below: Before long, the sky
started clouding up, then the clouds got really dark and there was THUNDER
and LIGHTNING. |
Then the rain came. |
Below: Soon the two RV Gypsies
realized that it was no longer rain, but HAIL that was pouring down
out of the sky onto them. They were glad that they had helmets on, even
though it was not really big hail. Hail is Hail !!!! |
It was hard to take photographs
while actually in the worse part of the rapids, because everyone had
to paddle and pray that they did not fall out of the raft. But Karen
Duquette did her best to get some photographs. |
Below: Wild River Adventures had people
on shore that took a few photographs and later, the two RV Gypsies bought
the photographs so they could be posted here. |
Below: Karen Duquette took
a few photos during the rapids, before joining the gang in paddling.
It was really hard to paddle when the waves were almost coming into
the raft. |
Below: Then a really big wave
came. Lee Duquette and the guy behind him got totally drenched. Lee
laughed, but look at the face the other guy made. The water was only
about 40 degrees in temperature. |
Below: Finally, back in calm
waters near the train tunnel. Then a train went by, so Karen Duquette
snapped a quick photo. |
The rain and hail had stopped now and all was calm. |
Below: Karen Duquette's feet
were really cold after stepping out of the raft into the water. And
of course everyone was wet and cold anyway from the rain and hail. |
