While driving on the highway after visiting the TV town of Mayberry USA, the Two RV Gypsies noticed a big pirate ship and stopped to eat at the Pirate's Landing Restaurant in Elkin, North Carolina. |
The outside and inside of the restaurant was constructed to resemble a dry-landed ship, with 200 year old supporting wood beams brought directly from the St. Lawrence Seaway. As the two RV Gypsies approached the deck of the ship, they saw that it was surrounded by water and fish. There was also antique planking throughout the ship restaurant. |
The two RV Gypsies went to Pirate's Landing and loved its pirate themed grounds. Unfortunately, they did not realize that Pirate's Fishing Pier is Texas' Longest Pier. Note: The Black Dragon Pirate Ship, Cannon Bar and Krispy Krunchy Chicken all located within walking distance. As well as Lighthouse Square, a popular destination for its walkable shopping, museums, and of course the Historic Lighthouse. When Karen Duquette built this website, she realized how much they missed in this area. Lee does most of the planning. If they ever get back to this area, they will check out the rest of the stuff. |
To make Pirate's Landing Seafood and Steak Restaurant a reality, the owner spent two years scouring the world for pirate treasures. Below are photos of a pirate and a treasure chest plus a rocking bird in the entry of The Pirate's Landing Restaurant in Elkin, North Carolina. There were also weapons, cannons, antique rugs, tapestries, aged wine barrels, and other artifacts displayed throughout the restaurant. |

The Two RV Gypsies ate flounder at the Pirate's Landing Restaurant. The food was very good. The restaurant specializes in seafood, steaks, ribs, chicken and pasta and also had a kids menu. (NOTE: These comments do NOT make the restaurant good or bad in general. This was just the opinion of the two RV Gypsies on a certain date in 2013). |
