Steering: Pilots control the direction by adjusting the altitude to reach wind currents going in a desired direction. Balloons travel with the wind, so the sensation is serene, like floating.

Bird's Eye View: Hot air balloons typically soar 500 to 1,000 feet above the ground.

Albuquerque Box: Pilots have extra control over navigating here because they can fly south at one altitude, then ascend and fly back north at another altitude.
