Chattanooga Riverboat
Cruise /
the River Gorge Explorer July 4, 2011 |
The two RV Gypsies and their grandson cruised
on the Tennessee Aquarium's sleek new boat, the River Gorge Explorer.
This 70-passenger catamaran, the first of its kind in the Southeast, transported
them downstream into “Tennessee's Grand Canyon, the Tennessee River Gorge."
Four water jets propelled this hydrofoil-assisted vessel smoothly and swiftly downstream. Angled seating allowed each one to relax in the climate-controlled cabin and enjoy the scenic beauty and wildlife through oversized windows. |

When the
trip began, everyone had to be on the lower deck in their seats because
the boat will go fast and it has to do sudden stops quite often due to
other boat traffic. But eventually the boat traveled at a slower speed
and everyone was free to go to the upper deck. This was a nice trip, but nothing overly exciting.

While walking
from the boat to the parking lot, Alex saw a brick couch on the sidewalk and took
