The two RV Gypsies hiked at Station Cove Falls
on Oconee Station Road, Station Mountain
in Sumter National Mountain Park
Oconee County, South Carolina
to see the waterfall

Directions: From the intersection of SC Highway 11 and SC 183, drive 1.5 miles north on SC 11 and turn left (northwest) onto Oconee Station Road (County S-95). Drive 2.4 miles to trailhead on the left. Parking is limited to four cars. The hike begins behind the bulletin board. Some websites lists it as a 1.6 mile out-and-back trail, generally an easy route that takes about 35 minutes to complete, which of course will vary according to the hikers physical ability and how often they stop to rest or take photographs.

Station Cove Falls is a stepped 60-foot waterfall with an easy, 30-minute hike through a gorgeous Appalachian cove to the waterfall. In the spring and summer, countless wildflowers bloom along the trail. You may see trillium, may apple, pink lady’s slipper orchids, bloodroot, and redbud. The two RV Gypsies did not see flowers on this date, but loved the scenery along the way anyhow. This waterfall is listed as open all year. However, as usual, the two RV Gypsies warn that waterfalls can be very dangerous and therefore visitors should not climb on the rock surround the falls.

Below: The two RV Gypsies finally reached Cove Falls. First they took a selfie as shown below. Then a nice couple who were also at the falls, volunteered to take a photo of the two RV Gypsies together. Karen Duquette asked them to please sign their guestbook because they mentioned several places that the two RV Gypsies would love to visit in the near future.
