The two RV Gypsies enjoyed lots of art
and more in Columbia, SC
April 30, 2022

Columbia the capital of South Carolina and the second-largest city in that state. A small portion of the city goes into the neighboring Lexington County. Columbia was the first city in America, and the first capital named for Christopher Columbus, but was almost named Washington. For more history about Columbia, South Carolina, go to https://columbiasc.gov/about-columbia/

IMPORTANT NOTE Note of interest: capital vs capitol - capital refers to the primary city and is usually the seat of the state government. The building that houses a government's legislative branch is the capitol.
Remember the "o" refers to a building with a dome, so in all other cases, use the "a".
