SPECIAL COMMENTS and PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS OF
THE TWO RV GYPSIES

Welcome to the Suwannee River Rendezvous dirt road

Suwannee River Rendezvous accepted Passport America, so the price was great. This was a very nice, large campground. The newest RV sites were just added three years ago. It was definitely big rig friendly.

However, coming in, the two RV Gypsies had to make a very sharp left hand turn that would have been difficult if they had been towing. Then they had to drive on a dirt road for a bit. But the roads in the RV section of the park were paved. The sites were dirt / gravel.

TV came in good. The Wi-Fi was unsecured and sometimes worked fast, and sometimes worked very slowly. The pool was big and heated, but the two RV Gypsies heard people saying the water was cold. There were two hot tubs, one small and round, and one big and curved. Pool open 9 a.m. to dusk. Wrist bands required to use pool. The two RV Gypsies did not use the pool or hot tubs.

No pets, food or drink allowed in the pool area. There was a nice covered pavilion with picnic tables by the pool. Both the pavilion and pool area are smoking areas. Bummer! There were only a few little trees in this RV area. Lafayette County is dry. No alcohol over 6% is sold and no alcohol is sold on Sunday.

When making a reservation over the telephone, the two RV Gypsies were assigned a site and told to park their RV in the assigned site, then come to the office. The office was located in a different part of the large park and that area was not suitable for big RVs. Below are photos of the office and "Grandma's Cooking Shack", which was open Friday through Sunday only, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Fishing was allowed on the bank, boat ramp and at the spring cut. No fishing in the spring itself. The spring is for swimming only. Pond is catch and release only. Below are photos of the spring. There were fish in the spring. The two RV Gypsies would not want to swim there.

The spring led out to the Suwannee River.

There were many other rentals here besides the "tree house" shown above. Well mannered dogs are welcome but there is a $10 pet fee per stay. The two RV Gypsies do not have pets. Tent sites are also available.

Check-in time was 2 p.m. Check-out time was 11 a.m. Satellite TV in all rooms. Prices vary. All rental units are non-smoking on all decks and porches. There is a charge of $150 cleaning fee if you smoke in the rooms. There are seasonal activities in the campground.

The above comments are just the experience and comments of the two RV Gypsies on this date. These comments do not make the campground good or bad in general.
