The two RV Gypsies hiked to Panther Falls
in Chattahoochee National Forest in Georgia
August 2-3, 2014

Panther Falls is the first of two waterfalls on the Angel Falls Trail in Rabun County, Georgia. The second waterfall on the trail is Angel Falls. The falls are each about 50 feet in height on Joe Branch Creek. The trail begins at the Rabun Beach Camping Area #2 and is a moderately strenuous 0.5 mile hike to Panther Falls and an additional 1/2 mile to Angel Falls.

Note: Even though this is part of the Chattahoochee National Forest, they did NOT accept the Senior National Pass. Weird.

Panther Falls is 1/2 mile up the trail and allows for a picturesque view of the the 40 feet it tumbles down the face rock. Below: Lee on a small bridge and the view from the bridge.

The two RV Gypsies crossed a small, muddy creek on the way to Panther Falls

Karen Duquette decided to walk closer to Panther Falls, feel the cold water, and have some fun!
