Keowee-Toxaway State Park is a state park in Pickens County, South Carolina. It was created in 1970 along the shores of Lake Keowee from lands previously owned by Duke Power. The park includes several picnic shelters as well as
fishing and boat access to the adjacent lake. Hiking can be done on
the 3.1 mile Raven Rock hiking trail or the 1.4 mile Natural Bridge
hiking trail, as well as a short interpretive loop trail. The park also
offers both backcountry and paved campsites, as well as cabin lodging.
The two RV Gypsies did not explore the campground at all.

If a big RV is towing a car, it might be best to unhook BEFORE you get to this campground. The campground roads are narrow and very curvy with ditches on the sides of the dirt entry road. There is NO room for even the slightest driving error. But the two RV Gypsies did not see any place nearby big enough for their 40-foot RV to fit so they could unhook their toad. Plus they were not aware of the conditions of the entry/exit campground road. Therefore, some trees scratched their RV as the drove on the sharp, narrow corners. Thank goodness that Lee Duquette is an excellent driver of the big RV. But when leaving, they were able to stop at the bottom of the hills to hook up their toad. |
