Thunder Bay
KOA advertised that they have cable sites, and they do, however only
36 sites out of their 155 sites actually had cable on this date. The
site that the two RV Gypsies were on did NOT have cable, and they only
got 3 channels on their TV, plus one French station. The Wi-Fi would
not connect at the site of the two RV Gypsies, so they had to go to
the office to use the internet. Trains blowing their horns could be
heard during the night.
This KOA won the 2011 Campground of the Year award, but the two RV
Gypsies definitely wonder why as per the comments in the above paragraph.
Karen Duquette hates spelling campground with a K because in her opinion
when businesses spell their names wrong, it contributes to children
not knowing how to spell correctly - at least in Karen's opinion.
Anyway, this KOA is nicely decorated and kept, but the two RV Gypsies
would not give it any awards (because the most important
thing to the two RV Gypsies are: full hook-ups with 50 amp service,
cable TV with lots of channels, secured Wi-Fi at the sites, roads in
the campground must be easy for big rigs to maneuver and be wide enough
for two RVs to pass each other (which is seldom the case), and trees
trimmed so they do not scratch the RV as it drives in and out of the
park. The two RV Gypsies do not use pools, laundromats, playgrounds,
campground showers or restrooms, games rooms etc. - although most people
probably do use those things and that is probably why they got an award.
(The two RV Gypsies are not campers, they just parking their RV in campgrounds
and use their toad to tour the area). Oh well - this is just the
opinion of the two RV Gypsies. |
