took their
27th Segway tour (which was the 2nd time in Savannah, Georgia but with a different Segway company) April 13, 2021 |
|
Before the Segway tour, the two RV Gypsies had a quick lunch at (SCAD) Savannah College of Art and Design's restaurant at 345 Bull Street in Savannah. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Sundays. Once inside the main door, the two RV Gypsies were surprised to see a classic, bright red, double-decker bus, which was originally used in London and later operated by SCAD for student transportation in Savannah. The menu offered fruit smoothies, wraps, coffee, espresso, fresh squeezed juices, and an assortment of grab-and-go snacks. It also sold a variety of fun and colorful SCAD-branded apparel, gifts. There were a few seats inside, up top, and outside. The two RV Gypsies had some wraps which they thoroughly enjoyed. |

Karen Duquette picked a pink pig helmet to wear on this tour. The front and the back of her shirt lists all of the Segway tours they have been on. Other Segway tours can be seen by clicking here, then scrolling down to the Segway tours. But first, finish this page. |

This was a nice tour, but did not cover as much ground or information as the Segway tour the two RV Gypsies took in Savannah in 2010 (which was only their 2nd Segway tour ever - this one was their 27th Segway tour with more to come in the future).Unfortunately Karen Duquette did not record the company that they toured with in 2010. Many Segway tours give free-wheeling time which the two RV Gypsies love. Neither of the Savannah tours gave free-wheeling time. Lee Duquette took a few photos while riding on the Segway. |

Below: According to the Segway guide, the little house below on the right was once used to teach black children to read and write during an era when that was illegal. One person would keep looking out the window and when authorities came, all books and pencils were thrown in a big box and the children picked up sewing materials because that is what they were allowed to do. |

These are just the photos taken while actually riding on the Segway. Lots more pictures were taken in Savannah, Georgia and are posted on this website, so please continue with the link below. |
