Being part of a family means everything at this time of year so there is always room for more. Karen Duquette's friend Monica Ekedahl, who lives in Sweden, always spends Christmas day with the family.

Every year Lee Duquette gets a T-shirt with a special photo on it. First it was his granddaughter, then it was both his grandchildren. Now it is his great-grandchildren, that started with Anthony, and now it is Anthony and Gabriella. Lee loves the shirts and always changes into his newest special shirt immediately.

This was the 9th year that the two RV Gypsies had to celebrate Christmas without their son, Brian Duquette. Each year, on the second Sunday in December, The Compassionate Friends sponsor a Worldwide Candle Lighting Ceremony and the two RV Gypsies go to church to honor and remember their son Brian Duquette and bring home their yearly angel. It does not ever get easier as the years go by. The tears still flow, and the hole in their hearts will never heal.
