The Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers and family
at Talkeetna Denali Valley View Lodge
15669 Coffey Lane
Talkeetna, Alaska 99676
July 21, 2016

The two RV Gypsies left Anchorage and drove to Talkeetna. It was a rainy, cloudy, cool day.

Talkeetna Denali Valley View Lodge is an ADULT ONLY vacation lodge with cabins on the edge of the Alaskan Wilderness and a really great lodge with lots of amenities. The lodge was easily accessible, just a 10 minute drive from downtown Talkeetna (two hours North of Anchorage, 146 Miles to the Denali Park entrance and three miles North and just one mile West of the “Talkeetna Spur” Highway). This is the nicest lodge the two RV Gypsies have ever stayed in, better than any hotel. But then again, they are usually in their RV, which was in repairs during this entire Alaska trip. For reservations or more information, call '907.733.4111

Everyone felt at home in the lodge because it had a great view of a small lake where moose sometimes visit. Plus, from the deck, the two RV Gypsies had the most awesome and panoramic views of Mt. Denali mountain and the Alaska Range (on a clear day). The two RV Gypsies wished they had planned more days here so they could relax and enjoy the large deck, hot tub, sauna and the tastefully re-furnished living areas of the lodge. But since their family only had two weeks total in Alaska, they had to move on. They wanted family to see as much of Alaska as possible in such a short time.

Below: Dining room view from the living room. Many different coffees, teas and even beer was always available. A lovely home-cooked breakfast was also served with plenty of food. However, the kitchen workers talked so loudly while preparing breakfast that their voices woke up the two RV Gypsies at 7 a.m. Breakfast was not until 9 a.m. (The bedroom of the two RV Gypsies was right off of the kitchen/dining room area).

Below: The bedroom for the two RV Gypsies and Karen's sister, was called the Trophy Room and it was $120 per night at this time. The room and the lodge was decorated in animal decor. It was located just off of the dining room on the first floor. Renee and John had a nice room upstairs, but it was not as big, and so it cost less.

The owner of the lodge was very nice. However, there could be a $50 fee charge if anyone checks out of the lodge late. There also could be a $50 early check-in fee. Shoes MUST be removed when in common areas.
