This was a Good, Good Sam
Park, located at mile 1083 Alaska Highway, 167 miles northwest of Whitehorse
on beautiful Kluane Lake. The campground is usually open May through
September. Check before you go there.
While
registering at the office, the two RV Gypsies met Mr. Loren Maluorno,
owner and operator of the campground. He was very nice and fun to talk
to. The cafe was closed at the time. No rules were given to the two
RV Gypsies. They were told to pick any site they liked, facing either
direction, keeping utilities on the drivers side of the RV. The two
RV Gypsies were also told that since he knew the main roads coming here
were terrible, they could sleep-in in the morning and leave whenever.
That was a first! Sites had water and 30 amp hook-up. No sewers. It
had coded Wi-Fi which worked at sites but was a bit slow, but usable.
However, Karen Duquette could not get a connection until 10 p.m. that
evening, probably because other RVers went to bed at that time. |
