After Lee Duquette checked
into the office, he was told to follow the red car to their assigned
space. The lady driving the red car drove too FAST and when she finally
stopped, Lee also stopped the RV. But by then, he was PAST the spot
she wanted him to park in, so he had to unhook the tow car and back
up the RV to get into the spot. This has never happened at a campground
before. And it would not be that bad except for the fact that a motorhome
towing CANNOT back up, and plus at that point, the road was quite MUDDY,
which made backing up the car more difficult and messy. Yes, it had
rained a lot lately, actually for about the last week everywhere the
two RV Gypsies were, but they have never encountered so much mud.
The entry sign even said, "We got mud!"
Karen Duquette did not realize that Lee Duquette had booked them at
an ATV friendly campground. The place was full of ATV's and rednecks
yelling "We got Mud!" at all hours of the day and
night.
NO
50 amp sites were available, so the two RV Gypsies got a 30 amp, full
hook-up site. No brochure was given to the two RV Gypsies at check-in.
It seemed as if this campground had NO rules at all. Old rotted RVs
were parked in spaces, one even had a big tarp over its entire roof.
It looked like a lot of the RVs never move so it must be the locals
use them on weekends so they can ATV around the park.
NO
TV. NO campground Wi-Fi. Luckily the two RV Gypsies had their own Wi-Fi.
And the site that the two RV Gypsies were assigned, as well as many
others, had empty bottles and beer cans and trash laying around. NO
rules here.
On
the first night there, someone was yelling "We Got Mud"
for one hour straight - 11 p.m. to midnight. When the yelling stopped
at midnight, someone started playing loud music until 1:45 a.m.. ATVs
were still driving around the campground until 2 a.m. The second night
was a Sunday night, so it was mostly quiet.
Advise to RVers. Do NOT go to this campground unless you have an ATV
and want to yell, "We Got Mud" and do not go to a
campground with no rules. |

Below: At first there were
some paved roads, but that ended quickly, which is not unusual. Notice
the trailer parked and how dirty it is. And see how far ahead the red
car was that the two RV Gypsies were supposed to follow. |

Below:
The trash at the site of the two RV Gypsies and the picnic table that
the two RV Gypsies would never dream of using. Of course Lee Duquette
immediately cleaned up the trash. |

Below: See the Mud the two RV Gypsies had to drive through to park in
their site. And a clothesline above a wooden plank. When Karen Duquette
stood on the wooden plank to get out of the mud, the clothesline came
right to her neck. Good way to get injured. Most campgrounds would never
allow clotheslines, especially on trees. Lee Duquette took it down. |

Below: The view from the
drivers side of the RV - not bad. |

Below: Thank
goodness there was some gravel to try to get around the mud. |

Below: The lake
in the campground was advertised as a 17-acre lake, but it sure looked
small to the two RV Gypsies. |

went to town, they walked in puddles to clean the Mud off the bottom
of their shoes. |
