After leaving a campground that did not work out, the two RV Gypsies looked in the North Dakota travel book and called Larimore Dam and Recreation Area campground. They were only about a one-hour drive away, and they got a reservation.
When they arrived, the office was closed but Lee Duquette called her
on the phone and the lady drove up on a big lawn mower and gave the
two RV Gypsies a site. All the sites here were very long. Once away
from the entry and office, the roads became dirt roads, which is mostly
normal at campgrounds.
The sites were all nice grass. The two RV Gypsies got a 50 amp full-hook
site. The campground had free unsecured Wi-Fi,
but it did not work at the site of the two RV Gypsies. There
were a lot of RVs in the campground, but no people were seen by Lee
or Karen Duquette. Water pressure was good. TV came in nicely.
The dam, a beach and a picnic area were also on the Larimore Dam Recreation
Area site, within walking distance. Now and then
a train and train horn could be heard in the distance, but they
were far enough away that they did not stop Karen Duquette from sleeping.
Check-out time was NOON on this date. |

To leave this campground, the two RV Gypsies drove forward out of their spot and down the lane of grass shown below in order to get back to the regular dirt roads out of the campground. |
